Hi, I am Reed!

I was born in Miami but raised in Texas. I graduated college from Texas State University and moved to Boulder Colorado shortly after. The outdoors, mountains, and gorgeous weather attracted me. I quickly learned how to snowboard and practice yoga and soon realized that it was a passion of mine. Yoga has taught me how to be more in tune with how I feel both physically and emotionally. It has taught me how to calm myself and regroup. Yoga teaches you how to slow down and be more mindful of your actions. I learned that yoga in practice is shown throughout your daily life. How you show up and treat yourself and others is the true essence of yoga. It isn’t just a sequence of postures. It’s a way of existing in the world.

I care about what I put into my body because, for so long, I did not. I’ve had a poor diet even after I became aware of what I was doing. It’s okay to feel guilty. I have a constant battle that I fight with sugar, caffeine, and junk food. I have felt the adverse effects of eating poorly and understand that I must make daily efforts to improve. In this blog, we will share advice and strategies to help curb those unwanted cravings. It’s not about having the perfect diet; it’s about the effort and consistency you put forth. Don’t beat yourself up when you don’t live “by the book.” You can have your cake and eat it too; it’s cake, that’s what you’re supposed to do. Only if the cake is vegan, gluten-free, and raw, of course (kidding).
We’re trying to paint a real picture of what life is like for us. We will not portray ourselves in a false light. So much of our modern lives are consumed by fake advertisements, people, and promises. In a world that promises you one thing but gives you another, we want to bring you our raw uncut truth. It isn’t always pretty, exciting, or funny. Sometimes it’s hard and even harder to watch. We appreciate your support and value your time. Our community is all we have at the end of the day, and we want that community to be reliable, healthy, and knowledgeable. Giving back to those in need, being kind, striving to learn, being open-minded, and leaving the world in better shape is how I strive to live.
Traveling to the US and connecting with others is our mission. Join us as we discover beauty in the land and the people of our country. America is diverse in its culture, food, and language. Through interviews and interactions, we intend to highlight this fantastic mix. Whether it’s through our search for the best taco ever or by conversations with blue-collar badass. We hope to shine a light on the shadows and expose the unique stories of those who make up the United States.

I am also a yoga instructor who teaches online and in person. To inquire further, please reach out to deniseandreed@gmail.com.
